Officer Commedations
To commend or compliment the performance of a Elm Springs Police Department employee, contact the Chief of Police by mail or email. Once recieved, a copy will be placed in the employee's personel file and then fowarded to the employee. Please include your contact information on any correspondance.
Officer Complaints
It is the policy of the Elm Springs Police Department to investigate all allegations and complaints of misconduct against any member of the department.
To make a complaint against a Elm Springs Police Department employee, notification should be made to the Chief of Police. Although a complaint can be made in any format, the prefered method of making complaints shall be in person and in writing. The fact that the complaint is not made in writing, or the person making the complaint chooses to remain anonymous may affect the status of any action taken on the complaint.
**Officer's are forbidden from retaliating against any person reporting misconduct to the Chief of Police**
The Chief of Police will be responsible for investigation of any violation of Police Department Policy or Procedure. The Chief of Police will consult with the Arkansas State Police anytime an allegation of criminal conduct occurs.
Notifications will be made to the reporting party informing them of the results of the departmental investigation. If the complaint did not give an address or phone number, notification can not be made.
